Hello! My name is Brianne (18), and I recently completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) program at Li Po Chun United World College. I am looking to provide my tutoring services to you and your children for English/Chinese languages, as well as general subject help for other subjects. I am a native Cantonese and English speaker, as well as fluent in Mandarin. I am fully vaccinated with three doses and can provide face-to-face/zoom classes.

In the IBDP program, I studied English Language and Literature HL with an achievement grade of (7/7) and Chinese Literature SL (6/7). I also studied History HL (7/7) and Global Politics (7/7). Prior to my IBDP studies, I attended Munsang College studying the HKDSE program and am therefore highly proficient in reading and writing Chinese. I also constantly obtained top 3 in the class with a predicted score of 5** for English, History, and Liberal Studies.

I really enjoy interacting and teaching young children and, therefore, am interested in helping your children improve their academic performance. I am patient and have previous experience in teaching young children from the ages of 5-15, including those whose first language isn't Chinese.

I would describe my teaching style as interactive and progressive. For languages, I believe immersion in listening, speaking, and writing is the most effective way to boost young children's proficiency. I would conduct lessons in a fun manner to arouse children's interest in the language and, therefore, prompt their self-learning and constant strive for improvement. For other humanities subjects, I would focus on improving their understanding of the content and drilling on useful exam and revision techniques.

My approach will depend on the student’s needs and learning style. However, my teaching is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. Read less
