Thany is a real gem as a coach and teacher. As she adapted and customized the materials to my specific needs, without giving in on quality. She is creative in finding ways to keep you going through the "boring" stuff. This motivated me to reach for the next level of mastering the Thai language. Her command of English and other European languages made it easier for me to grasp the subtleties of some (Thai) expressions. Besides there are 2 more points that I would like to add: first, she is always responsive to your questions even after the course has finished. Secondly, she is professional in putting tech solutions in her educational design - fitting for "Baby Boomers" and older. She always gives more than she takes - therefore, she is one of the "nice" professionals to work with. Don't miss out on the opportunity.
I use official materials, as well as my own material, which I have produced over the years as a Thai teacher.
I teach students from beginner to those who deliver speeches in public place.
I have interactive tools that they can access any time and can be used as homework. The sets of words or phrases are personalised to their needs and can be kept for their use only, even after the class is finished.
I start with writing down dialogues and let my students see examples of how Thai conversation goes. The students usually notice different use of words and structure and we can discuss or look into each part. The conversation topic is usually personalised to student's interest.
It is upon their request. Usually, students who learn Thai do not request writing skills. But I have worksheets and interactive tools for them to work on.
Usually ithe reading is read aloud and is discussed in class. Sometimes I make quizes or conversation exercise that follows up the reading.
It is part of the language, they go hand in hand. I also give anecdotes, pictures, and tell stories so that student can be more clear on some notions of culture that they find unfamilliar.
I always try to keep it short and simple. Drill with exercise, and then delveop into more difficult scenarios. I also provide grammar exceptions, so that students are aware of it. Especially if they focus on speaking and listening.
Yes, they are usually for them to do listening or vocabulary revision at their convenience with interactive links
I always personalise the class and each set is made up from student's demand on the topic. I prioritise this, since it is key to learning a language that is very foreign to mant like Thai. As I had experience learning Chinese in China, I know how it feels to want personlised materials and teachers who can help me with what I actually need.
