My teaching philosophy is simple, to inspire students and develop a passion for science. The key to
any successful teaching and learning experience is to develop clear learning objectives and detailed
lesson plans.

I can teach a range of sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and General Science. I have experience in many different curriculums, such as Middle Years Program (MYP), International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), HK Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE), Advanced Placement (AP), Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), International Baccalaureate (IB) and A-level to English as a second language (ESL) students.

Students do not all learn the same way or at the same pace; it is a fundamental skill of a good teacher
to be able to differentiate and apply appropriate methods accordingly. I cater to mixed ability classes,
by preparing additional learning tasks to stretch student’s potential and breaking down existing
learning tasks to motivate less able students.

Most of my secondary teaching experience in Hong Kong and China involved teaching science to
English as a Second Language (ESL) students. As a result of this experience, I like to keep my
presentation of concepts simple, visual, and relatable to daily life.

I have always had a passion for science and have been extremely fortunate to have worked within the
scientific field applying that passion using the skills I have gained over the past fifteen years either
through studying, teaching, or doing research. I have a desire to pass on my knowledge and passion
for science to students. I understand the need to be flexible and adapt to different students' needs. I
am looking for new challenges to enable me to grow and develop my skills and teaching philosophy. Read less
